Tomatoes Everywhere!

We recorded at Studio L this week, where the fall harvest is coming in nicely, and morning glories are shining the live long day! Julie came along as a special guest, and she provided her wish list for next week's garden at Studio B.

Check out our Garden Grlz feed on Tumblr for photos and between-episode updates.

The Watermelons that Ate Manhattan

Today's podcast finds us once more at Studio L, where Laura has successfully daisy-chained three rain barrels and is harvesting, harvesting, harvesting. She's keeping a close eye on the melons, as they seem intent on garden domination. Beth has actually done some cutting down of weeds (so they're more like ground cover, at least), and exploring options for the soon to be expanded front gardens.

Check out our Tumblr feed (link to the right) to see photos and updates between episodes.

Aphids and Tumblr and Squash, Oh My!

The hot days have continued, with Laura continuing her struggles to keep the produce well-hydrated. Meanwhile, at Studio B, the plants fend for themselves - some well, some taking themselves out of the gene pool. Laura's also been having adventures with presumed aphids, and Beth's added a Garden Grlz site on Tumblr. You can click the link on the right-hand menu to check out Tumblr.

Exploding Gardens!

After a week of rain, ran, rain followed by a week of hot, hot, hot, we've moved on to a week of grow, grow, grow! Listen to this week's episode to hear all about how June is bustin' out all over, especially in Laura's gardens! Beth's got some flowers either blooming or on the edge of it, and managed to finish some projects. We also chat about Laura's vacation trip to the Vegetarian Summer Fest in Pennsylvania, some food ideas and what's coming around the next bend. Also - the answer to the cracking radish mystery!

Hot, Hot, Hot!

We're back at Studio B, where Beth has been leading a vampire-like existence, staying out of the sun on doctor's orders. She has been making some use of diagrams, though! Laura, meanwhile, has been battling the heat and uncooperative hose fittings to keep her two gardens thriving. Listen to the podcast for all the exciting details!

Heat and Rain and Clover, Oh My!

This week we returned to Studio L, where the plants are climbing, growing and producing! Laura has added more plants to the scene, from various sources, including a plethora of donated tomatoes. AND - she's been harvesting strawberries and radishes!  We've both been battling the high-90's weather, with Laura doing late-night gardening and speed mowing with her new mower. Meanwhile, Beth started the Giant Shrub Takedown Project, but was taken down herself about halfway through.  Listen to the podcast for all the thrilling details, and scroll down  for an assortment of visual aids.  Enjoy, and thanks for listening!
